Ohikoa da gaur egungo ondarea babes nahiaren aitzakiarekin nolabait baltsamatzea, bere imajina izoztu, herriak behar ez duen apaingarri gisa amaitu dezan. Planteamendu honek arkitekturaren helburu garrantzitsuena ahazten du, hau da, zerbitzu bat prestatzea. Hau dela eta, ondarea babesteko modurik egokiena eraikinaren erabilera eta aktibitateekin  bizirik mantentzea dela uste dugu.

Zentzu honetan, Bergarako Errege Mintegiko elizaren birgaitze proiektuak, XVIII. mendeko espazioaren konfigurazio barrokoa mantentzea du helburu,  baina bestalde, elementu eta azpiegitura mugikorrez hornituta erabilera anitz jaso dezake bere baitan.

It is often intended to protect the Architectural Heritage by the process of embalming, freezing its image, transforming it into an ornamental object. This approach forgets that the ultimate aim of Architecture is to give service, and therefore the best way to safeguard Heritage is keeping it alive, full of use and activity.

In this sense, the rehabilitation project of the Bergara Royal Seminar Church, keeps the late-Baroque original spatial configuration of the seventeenth-century temple, but also, gives to the Main Hall, all kind of mobile infrastructures that let a great variety of uses and activities inside.
